Ich habe vor kurzem einen Yamaha 90PS 2T / Bj1999 auf der Isle of Man in einem sehr guten Zustand gekauft

So einen enthusiastischen Verkäufer habe ich noch nicht erlebt

Er hat mir einen Tip mit auf den Weg gegeben wie ich den Yamaha über den Winter konservieren soll um noch viele Jahre Freude zu haben - den will ich Euch nicht vorenthalten - speziell für Motore die im Salzwasser laufen !

Seine Frage ob ich Spagetti kochen kann hatte mich etwas überrascht - aber lest selbst

Leider nur in englisch :

1)Run the engine in a barrel of water having first adding some cooking oil to the tank (say about ½ litre). Adding a few drops of washing up liquid will also help to plasticize to oil if required. All this will help prevent the growth of salt crystals within the water jacket and also prevent the water pump impeller from sticking to the pump housing during storage.

2)Stall the engine using fogging oil. Spray "fogging oil" (obtained from local Chandlers or e-bay etc) into the air intake, whilst holding the throttle at around 1500rpm until it stops (ie: chokes on the fogging oil). This will retain the fogging oil within the crank case and thus prevent the main, big end & small end bearings from rusting during storage.

3)Remove the spark plugs and spray fogging oil directly into each of the upper cylinders. This prevents the piston rings from sticking/rusting to the cylinder walls.

4)Partially insert oily rags into each of the spark plug holes to retain the fogging oil and prevent damp air entering the cylinders. (clean and store the spark plugs or fit new ones on re-commissioning).

5)Drain the carburettors and use ( low pressure) compressed air connected to the fuel line of the engine to purge any remaining fuel from the system.

Regular annual servicing involving inspection of the water pump impeller (requires gear box removal), thermostat testing, change of gearbox oil (with oil seal pressure testing) etc, are all essential even if only a few hours of running time have been recorded.
